On which airport we fly best?
The nearest airport is that of Malaga. Casa Pura Vida is located an hour’s drive from the airport in Malaga.
You can also fly to Sevilla and Granada. Granada is also an hour’s drive of Casa Pura Vida. Seville nearly 1,5 hours drive away.
Do I need to rent a car and where best to do that?
Renting a car is necessary for you to make excursions and to get here.
Online you can find some platforms where you can compare the different rental companies and you can compare prices. Only with Goldcar and Centauro, we do not have good experiences. They initially seem the cheapest, but once on site they charge extra to use and expensive gasoline prices.
In Málaga, some car rental companies have an office at the airport, for others, you have to take a shuttle bus when exiting the airport (often cheaper and shorter waiting times). On the website of the airport of Malaga, under ‘car rental’, you can find a list of car rental companies with offices in the airport building.
Personally, we have the best experience with www.malagacar.com. They have an office outside the airport and a shuttle service (2 minutes ride). You find a link to their website on all our web pages.
We strongly advise you to choose a full insurance, this way, even when you would have an accident, you will get the full warranty back.
It is necessary beforehand to plan our trips and make reservations?
In general, it is not necessary to do so, with 2 exceptions. If you would like to visit the Alhambra, it is advisable to book tickets. Advance More information can be found here: click here
We recommend the afternoon visit (from 14h), so you have enough time after breakfast to drive towards Granada and possibly schedule a visit to the city centre before.
There are obviously quite busy periods that require some more preparation as eg Semana Santa (the week before Easter), which is just about the busiest week of the year.
Also for the Caminito del Rey, you need to make reservations beforehand. Check here for more info.
